Shakespeare’s original play has historically been known as one of the most despairing stories of all time, with Romeo and Juliet’s intense infatuation for one another leading to their choice to commit suicide. Utilizing Shakespeare and his wife, Hathaway, as narrators in the play itself however, Broadway's brand-new show, & Juliet, places in a new twist by allowing Juliet to live through the ending of Shakespeare’s classic and focusing on her own coming-of-age story. Choosing to find new experiences with Juliet's equally-resolved group, they are all opened up to an unknown way of life beyond what they were accustomed to after they come to Paris.
